Site-specific Installation and Performance
Apneas Rhapsody constituted a durational, site-specific work investigating the negotiation between physiological constraint and ecstatic release. The term "apnea" defines the work's central conceptual strategy: a controlled suspension of essential action that generates psychological tension within the performance body. The intervention explores the limits of physical presence, using the gallery space as an arena for existential confrontation. The rhapsody element introduces an ecstatic or improvisational formal structure, contrasting the body's rigid control with emotive expression. This work extends JAŠA's sustained inquiry into the body as a psychological archive and the transformative potential of time-based practice within an gallery setting.
