The Yellow Dot
MSUM / Museum of Contemporary Art, Ljubljana, Slovenia

Site-specific Installation
The Yellow Dot was a critical site-specific installation realized in 2011 for the official opening event of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MSUM) in Ljubljana. This intervention exemplifies JAŠA's conceptual methodology, positioning the singular, titular element—the yellow dot—as a point of conceptual friction within the architectural expanse of the newly inaugurated institution. The work functions as a minimalist gesture that interrogates the expansive political and social implications of institutional opening events. By deliberately shifting the focus from monumental display to a singular, precise element, it compels the viewer to re-evaluate their spatial and institutional context. The work foregrounds the artist's use of polystylism and geopolitical consciousness, employing the exhibition space as a direct medium for critical conceptual inquiry.
