The Last Night

Museum am Bach (MUAB), Ruden, Carinthia, Austria

2020

In-situ Installation and Performance

The Last Night is a concentrated intervention within JAŠA's durational practice, strategically executed at Museum am Bach (MUAB), an institution dedicated to Sozialmodelle der Kunst (Social Models of Art). The project employed the artist's command of mutable architecture, layered performance, and strict temporal structuring to explore social fragility in the context of 2020 global disruption. The title itself signals a necessary temporal boundary and climax, forcing a heightened sense of shared presence before an inevitable conclusion. This structural approach directly engaged with MUAB’s mission to foster participative democracy and study process-based awareness. The work's core function was to compel participants to actively generate and inhabit a momentary, transient new reality, positioning the resulting collective memory as the definitive artifact.
