The Monuments | Chapter 2 | The Last Dolphin

Kühlhaus Berlin

21.01.2022

Site-specific Installation and durational performance

Chapter 2, The Last Dolphin, was presented at Kühlhaus Berlin from 18:00 to 22:00, establishing an intensely intimate yet unnerving environment summarized by the core statement: "There’s nobody left but us in this (room)." The work explored profound themes of existential isolation and the finality of presence.

The durational performance, featuring Noemi Veberič Levovnik, utilized the site-specific architecture to manufacture controlled proximity and psychological tension. The intervention functioned as a contained narrative space where every interaction became heightened, confronting visitors with their anxieties related to closed spaces and extreme closeness to others. The audience and the performer were situated as the final relics of a shared, ephemeral moment, embodying a necessary confrontation with the idea of 'the end.'
